These terms are the agreement between you and Machariel OÜ for your use of ProxChat. By creating a profile you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the app.

ProxChat is for adults. You confirm you are at least 18 when you create a profile. If we find that you are not, we will close your account. This is not negotiable and applies regardless of the age of majority where you live.
You register with a phone number, which we verify with a one-time code. Your number is never shown to other users. You choose a display name and may remain pseudonymous — we do not require your legal name.
One person, one account. Keep access to your phone number secure: anyone who can receive your verification code can sign in as you. Tell us at once if you think someone else has access to your account.
Our Community Guidelines form part of these terms and describe what is and is not acceptable. In short: treat other people as you would want to be treated, and do not use ProxChat to harass, deceive, solicit, or break the law.
You also agree not to:
You keep ownership of what you write and the photos you upload. You give us the permission needed to store and display that content to operate the service — showing your profile to people nearby and delivering your messages — and nothing more. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.
You are responsible for what you post. Do not upload anything you do not have the right to share, and do not post another person's photograph as your own.
You can block any user, which stops them messaging you and removes each of you from the other's list of people nearby. You can report a user or a message. You can switch on invisible mode to browse without appearing in other people's lists. We review reports and may remove content, suspend accounts, or refer matters to the authorities.
ProxChat shows you people who are physically near you, and some of you will choose to meet. We do not verify identity, we do not run background checks, and we cannot vouch for anyone. A verified phone number means someone controls a phone; it means nothing else about them.
If you meet someone, meet in a public place, tell a friend where you are going, and stop if something feels wrong. You are responsible for your own safety and for your decision to meet anyone.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms or the Community Guidelines, or where we reasonably believe it is necessary to protect other users. Where it is appropriate and lawful we will tell you why and you may respond by writing to us.
You can close your account at any time in the app: Me → Delete account. This removes your profile, location, conversations, messages and photo immediately.
We work to keep ProxChat available and correct, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and distances shown in the app are approximate by design. To the extent the law allows, we exclude implied warranties.
Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be limited by law. Subject to that, we are not liable for the conduct of other users, whether online or in person, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss.
If you are a consumer in the European Union, you keep all the rights your national law gives you, and nothing here takes those away.
We may update these terms. We will update the date above and, for significant changes, tell you in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use ProxChat after that means you accept the new terms.
These terms are governed by Estonian law. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on the mandatory consumer protection rules of the country where you live, and may bring proceedings there.
